ULL Wins at Texas Water Ski’s Fall Classic 2017!

This past weekend The University of Texas at Austin hosted their annual Fall Classic tournament on lake Frame Switch for the South Central Region! Since it’s the beginning of the season we saw lots of new faces, and we even got the chance to welcome a whole new team into the region: Oklahoma State University!

Skiing began bright and early on Saturday morning with Men’s A Slalom on the middle lake and Women’s A Trick on the bottom lake. Announcers Topher Jensen (a former UT skier) and Topher Rzasnicki (a current A&M skier) kept the crowd informed and engaged during the days events by delivering fun facts, dad jokes, and “On the Dock” interviews.

As the day went on, rumors of the snake that lives under the jump ramp didn’t stop skiers from hitting big red starting around 2pm Saturday afternoon. We saw everything from first timers to experienced jumpers, and Texas State University kept up their usual shenanigans by sending a member in a cow suit off the ramp in the first rotation!

Skiing wrapped up on Sunday morning with Men and Women’s B Team Jump followed by a quick cleanup before the South Central Region teams headed back home.

It was such a pleasure to have everyone out at Frame Switch to kick off the tournament season, and we would like to extend a huge thank you to Jeran and Janet Hooten, Chief Judge Danny LeBourgeois, Chief Driver Ken Buchheit, Chief Scorer Lisa Holland, and all of the other officials that made this event possible.

See you in a week for Hog Wild at Bullneck Lake!
