The South Central Region spent their weekend in Katy, Texas fighting for a spot at this year’s Connelly Skis 2017 NCWSA Nationals, and as of Sunday afternoon at 2:09pm ULM, ULL, Texas State, Texas A&M, and UT will all be in attendance!
Skiing at Regionals began on Saturday morning with Men’s Slalom on lake one and Women’s Trick on lake two. Ryan Canepa from ULL took home the top spot in slalom once again with 3 buoys at 39.5 off, and Hanna Straltsova from ULM scored a whopping 4,190 points in trick.
While waiting for other A team events to wrap up, Alumni and Tournament Officials both got the chance to trick and slalom. It was great to see some of our favorite skiers back on the water! Our Saturday full of skiing was followed by a fireworks show over the jump lake, a delicious BBQ banquet dinner, and watch parties for some exciting collegiate football games.
On Sunday we finished up rotations 3-5 of A team jump. We saw Danylo Filchenko of ULM land an impressive 185 foot jump, as well as his teammate Hanna Straltsova land at 149 feet. After A team was through, B team jumpers and Alumni got the chance to hit the ramp for the remainder of the afternoon.
Final team standings at Regionals:
