American Water Ski Educational Foundation
Each spring, six $1,500 scholarships are available through the American Water Ski Educational Foundation. Any USA Water Ski member who is a student currently enrolled full time at any accredited University in the United States and is an incoming sophomore, junior, or senior is eligible to apply. Applications are due each March 1st for the following ski year.
- Requirements: The applicant must be an incoming sophomore, junior or senior as well as a U.S. Citizen, studying full-time at a two or four-year school.
- General guidelines for consideration include the number of years the applicant has been a member of USA Water Ski, academic achievement level, two letters of reference, need, work record, school and community activities and a 500-word essay.
- Also considered are the individual’s contributions to the sport as a skier, rider, barefooter etc., as a worker at water ski tournaments, (judge, driver, committee work, etc.)
School Based Athletic Scholarships and Teams.
Several NCWSA Teams have the ability to provide various academic and athletic scholarship opportunities to student athletes. The requirements, qualifications, and awards vary differently from program to program. Any inquires are best directed to the individual teams. If your school offers financial assistance, please contact the webmaster.
Team Development Scholarships
NCWSA is also able to provide four $1500 team development scholarships every year. Each NCWSA Region receives either the Correct Craft Scholarship, Mastercraft Scholarship, Malibu Scholarship, or Ed Walker Memorial Scholarship to award based on the criteria developed by that region’s Board of Directors.
