Lunch time at Winter Conference 2011
2011 Winter Conference attendees coming back for lunch.

Team Midwest’s Winter Conference has become a huge event over the years. This year’s MCWSA Winter Conference will be hosted on February 11, 2017 at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Skiers from around the Midwest will gather to hear what the pros and fellow collegiate skiers have to share.

So with this year’s Winter Conference fast approaching, we reached out to the pros and asked them about their skiing and collegiate skiing as they prepare for Winter Conference.

About the Pros & MC

This years pros feature returning pro Zack Worden and newcomers to Winter Conference, Adam Pickos and K.C. Wilson. These three will host informational sessions on Saturday following the captains meeting. Sessions are split up by event and by skill level.

Adam Pickos

Adam PickosAdam Pickos is 25 years old and from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Adam is a University of Louisiana at Monroe Alumni. He skied on their collegiate team for 3 years and has 3 collegiate national championships under his belt. Currently, Adam is the world trick champion and a US Team Member. Adam says:

I have so many great memories while skiing for ULM – the excitement and passion of collegiate skiers and their teams is unparalleled in the sport. I’m really looking forward to help grow the sport and make sure we’re having fun along the way!

Make sure you say hi to Adam at Winter Conference! He is excited to be a part of this years’ conference.

K.C. Wilson

K.C. WIlsonK.C. Wilson grew up water skiing in Winter Springs, FL. When he was younger his family took weekend trips to the lake where they all learned how to ski. In 2000 the Wilson Family moved onto a lake that had a ski course, and the next door neighbors were competitive skiers. They quickly taught them what competitive skiing was about, and before long Brooks and K.C. were hooked. K.C. is very passionate about the opportunities skiing has provided, K.C. says:

Water skiing became a much bigger passion of mine than I ever could have imagined. Skiing has opened up so many doors for my brother and I to be able to travel, meet new people, and even make a career in the sport. I have had the privilege to work along side Radar & MasterCraft to help continue to develop and grow the sport of water skiing. It has given me so much, and I try to take any opportunity to give back to sport that has given me so much.

K.C. is excited for Midwest Winter Conference!  He says the Midwest consists of some of the toughest skiers and the most stoked skiers. K.C. cannot wait to meet some new passionate friends, and he is thankful for The Ohio State water ski team for putting this weekend together.

Zack Worden

Zack WordenZack Worden is an alum of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Zack is the current NCWSA men’s jump record holder, at 2011 NCWSA Nationals he set the record at 195 feet! Unfortunately, Zack could not be reached for comment; he must be busy preparing for the weekend!

Jon Bice – Master of Ceremonies

Jon BiceEach year of Winter Conference, one person gets to orchestrate what can easily devolve into chaos. This year, Team Midwest alum, former University of Wisconsin – Stout skier, and former regional board member Jon Bice puts that hat on. Jon will be the person that makes sure things run on time, or at least on “ski time.” Jon gets the privilege of introducing everyone, telling some great stories, and standing in front of everyone to at least temporarily reprise his role as Team Midwest Dad.
