UT Fall Classic Changed
As most of you may have heard, Frame Switch has depleted into all but a giant puddle and unfortunately will not be skiable this Fall. The drought in central Texas has been a very unfortunate situation, and has not left many alternatives for locations and dates for Fall Classic.

Luckily, we were able to find a new location for the tournament at Lago Santa Fe, Texas. The original dates for the tournament of September 5th and 6th were not available in Lago, so we have had to move the tournament to the next open weekend of September 12th and 13th.

Hopefully, these changes will not be a huge inconvenience to any of you. More information about tournament details will be coming soon. We are looking forward to hosting a great tournament despite these weather conditions, and can't wait to start the season off right with Fall Classic!

Please let me know if you have questions.

See ya'll soon!

UT Fall Classic Results
The South Central Regionʼs season was slow getting started, but once it did it went quickly.  The University of Texas took first in the third tournament in as many weeks.  Of course the weather had to play a part, a consistent 20 mph wind badgered skiers throughout day.  With ULM and ULL taking the weekend off (or competing at the World University Championships) the Texas schools got an opportunity to fight for the top placements.  Texas was followed on the leader board by Texas State, Texas A&M and Baylor.  Brent Norwood of Texas A&M won menʼs jump with a 134ʼ followed by Kevin Shimek of Texas State with 128ʼ.  Womenʼs jump, trick and slalom honors go to Katy Brantley of TSU with scores of 75ʼ, 820 points and 2.5 @ 28 mph.  Menʼs Slalom was taken by Nick Williams from the University of Texas with 1 @ 35 off.  The tournament ran very smoothly thanks to the many volunteers at Frameswitch Ski Lakes and hard work of the host team The University of Texas.  Everyone was well fed despite the fact bar-b-q pit caught fire on Interstate 35, but thatʼs what you put up with for quality smoked brisket.  The only complaint I heard was a Texas State skier protesting his second place finish in the dizzy bat competition.

ULM edges out ULL in South Central Region debut

The South Central Region finally got a tournament under the belt, but Mother Nature still was not fully cooperative.  After an extended rain delay The University of Louisiana Monroe beat out their instate rivals from the south.  The University of Louisiana Lafayette took second followed by Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Baylor and Arkansas.  Adam Seldjamer beat Ian Trapp with a score of 3 bouys at 39 off to 1 at 39 off respectively.  Nick Williams of Texas took third with a respectable 5 at 35 off.  Looking ahead to next weeks regional Ccampionships; the fight for the coveted third place in Division 1 Nationals should be a back and forth battle as usual.  At the top of the team rankings it is not a forgone conclusion who will go into Nationals with the first place finish.  Look for ULL to make a push for momentum after doubling as hosts this past weekend.

Hurricane Ike looks ready to let the South Central get started
The South Central Region should finally get underway this weekend in Zachary, Louisiana (keep your fingers crossed).  The tournament will be hosted by The University of Louisiana Lafayette along with Bennett's Water Ski and Wakeboard School.  We expect an tournament to be excellent as always, as for where everyone will stay, well that will be interesting.  Hotels in the Baton Rouge area are still reserved by FEMA for use by hurricane recovery workers.  Luckily camping is available on site and some teams may be able to get a hotel north of Zachary.  It will be nice to get on the water and see how our teams stack up with the rest of the country on the new ranking list.

The SCR updated schedule is as follows:
Sept. 21 - Bennett's in Zachary, LA
Sept. 28 - Ski Texas in Houston, TX
Oct. 4 - Frameswitch in Austin, TX
