NCWSA Winter Meeting Wrap Up
The NCWSA Board and Committee Chairs had their annual winter meeting last week in Orlando, FL.  Here are some of the details from the meeting:

*All officers were relected, Jeff Surdej as Chairman, Harley Wallace as Vice Chairman, Amanda Wilson as Secretary, and Brian Telano as Treasurer
*Scot Snape was awarded Honorary National Director
*We are waiving new teams the NCWSA team fees and dues for thier first season
*Added 2 appointed scorers to the list of national officials
*Academic team will be year round with ability to submit grades to awards chairman’s via website, to be acknowledge a gpa of 3.5 or higher for the academic period
*Medical Redshirt passed-skiers can submit a medical reshirt application if they have not competed in a qualifying tournament.  There are a number of forms and stipulations that you can view once the new rulebook is released in a few weeks
*Slalom at all-stars will be a record event
*Rankings list penalties for not having 2 scores was elimnated
*Team event rankings will be used for seeding nationals. Last event still seeded based on scores
*Clarification that all-stars does not count toward spring eligiblity but skiers limited to 4 all-star appearances
*Changed Team trial qualifications to the following. Scores in paranthesis indicates single eventer.  3 eventers can drag their 3rd event as well.

Men 1.5/11.25m (1.5/10.75m slalom only) 4000 (6,000 tricks only) 159' (179’ jump only)

Women 1.5/12m (1.5/11.25m slalom only) 3,300 (5,300 tricks only) 96' (116’ jump only)
*Score frame for team trials extended until the weekend before allstars. So for 2010 team trials it will be August 14th 2008 until weekend before team trials 2010
*NCWSA stickers for sale and more items coming
*Mens and womens slalom speeds lowered to 25K (15.5 mph)
*Texas awarded 2010 Nationals
*2010 Team Trials and All-stars bids now open until April 1st
*No towboat fees for manufacturers to pull 2009 all-stars and nationals
*All-stars Tourney Committee
