For those of you affiliated with NCWSA, please forward this to your teams or any alums you think would be interested. Anyone and everyone is welcome so parents, parents' friends, extended family; forward this to whomever! Its going to be at Frameswitch Ski Lakes, near Austin, TX, the practice lake for UT (email me back or call the number below for directions, or search CR101 Taylor, TX on googlemaps.com- you can see three tiny lakes on 101.. that's it!) -Friday, June 20: Practice from noon till dark-thirty, $5/set for tournament participants only, can fill out registration paperwork on Friday too -Saturday, June 21: 8 a.m. registration on-site 9 a.m. start time for the tournament! two rounds of slalom on the middle lake for scoring trick and jump on the lower lake for fun (jump only for those with full active USA insurance) for slalom and trick, there will be temporary insurance available on-site at registration for $10 Who can ski? Absolutely anyone that has ever gone to college and likes to ski. This tournament is just for fun and will be scored as all college alumni vs. all active college students. We'll take an average of number of buoys for each side to decide who's the best <*cough* actives>... The alumni did dominate the tournament last year, but this year we're coming back with a vengeance. If anyone wants to come and is traveling, call me and we'll get people to help however we can from airport pick-ups to lake transportation. My number is 817-658-3740. The cost to ski is $50 and this includes food and beverages of all sorts :), a Texas t-shirt for alumni, the two rounds of slalom and whatever tricking or jumping you want to do. For actives, we've decided to make the entry fee $15 to help cover everything, but we all know how broke we are :) This tournament is our big fundraiser of the year and its a lot of fun and skiing for $50 so everyone should come out and rehash their glory days in college. FOR EVERYONE: go to www.usawaterski.org, on the left side of the home page there is the link ATHLETES' RESOURCES, click it and it'll pull down a menu, then click on 2008 TOURNAMENT FORMS. Click on the Adult-Minor Waiver, print the page for the adult waiver, fill it out and bring it to the tournament. This will make registration go exponentially smoother. If you're getting the temporary insurance for the weekend, just make sure and show up at 8 a.m. and there's one form to fill out the morning of. FOR ACTIVES: make sure and bring proof of USA insurance, preferably your physical card FOR JUMPERS: on www.usawaterski.org, you can find a link for the full USA insurance required to jump. If you sign up, please put NCWSA as your secondary discipline, if AWSA is your first. Print the confirmation receipt and bring it with you. Please respond to this (if you haven't already RSVPed) and let me know if you're going to come out so I can figure out a ballpark of how many people are coming. If anyone has any questions or passed out midway through this email and needs more information, feel free to email me back or call at 817-658-3740. Hope to see everybody there- 4 weeks and counting!!!!!! -Kendyl Hardin- UT Alumni Chairperson |
