A little over a week ago the South Central held its Polar Bear Classic, hosted annually by Texas A&M and in the East a few teams got together to ski in a tournament appropriately named March Madness.
The Hunt for Polar Bears
Spoiler alert! No polar bears were found 🙁 However, no one seemed to be phased by the lack of polar bears, and no one seemed to be taking a polar plunge as the weather for the weekend was sunny and way above freezing. Let’s recap the event through some amazing photos and video.
These two slalom skiers from the ULL Ragin’ Cajuns do not seem to be fearing the water or air temps.
Oh and we are betting that jump skier in the back of UT’s picture did not land successfully.
We finally found someone wearing a heater shirt or rash guard!! But Hanna from University of Louisiana Monroe looks comfortable rather than cold.
So the weather appeared to be amazing, the skiing was great, and the tournament was a success. The weather was so nice, the tournament imported a Southern California skier, Tabbie from SDSU, who skied B Team for Texas A&M; we are not sure why she did not just ski A team as SDSU.

Clemson and Georgia got together in Florida at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Florida for a two team tournament that seemed to be at the back end of Clemson’s Spring Break. Everyone seems to have had a great time.
