Auburn Water Ski - 2017 The Big Event Community Service Project

Auburn Water Ski Takes Part in Community Service Event

Every week we will release a digest of team news, announcements, or updates that have been sent our way to help spread the great updates about all of our teams across the nation! Hopefully, as this feature catches on we will get more submissions, but Auburn is flying solo in our inaugural week, so they get the entire article, feature picture, and the headline!

Auburn University Water Ski Participates in Campus Wide Community Service Day: The Big Event

Auburn Water Ski - 2017 The Big Event Community Service ProjectOn Saturday March 4th, 2017, Auburn University held its 14th annual community service day, The Big Event. The Auburn Water Ski Team (Facebook | Instagram) was thrilled when they saw there wasn’t a tournament conflict, so they would be able to participate in this event for the first time ever! After meeting on campus at 8am to receive their assignment, the team proceeded to the Boykin Community Center where they spent the remainder of the day. The girls team stayed inside to transform the walls of two preschool classrooms from a dull white to a brilliant green. Meanwhile, the boys team was outside with rakes and trash bags, polishing the playground area and disposing of hazardous items in the lawn. The team was humbled by the experience, delighted to see the results of their hard work, and are already looking forward to next year!
