2017 Winter Meetings

The off season is upon us, and with the off season making skiing impractical for many regions, three of the four regions host winter meetings to cover business affairs as well as other items based on the region. Here are the scheduled winter gatherings!

National

The NCWSA national meeting is this week! On January 27, 2017 the NCWSA Board of Directors will gather at USA Water Ski headquarters to hold its annual winter meeting

Midwestern Region

Team Midwest will gather at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio for Winter Conference 2017 on February 11, 2017 at 8am! The Team Midwest Winter Conference is unlike any of the other regions’ events; Team Midwest hosts professional water skiers and other speaks to hold learning sessions throughout Saturday after their morning business meeting concludes. At these sessions, speakers take questions about the various collegiate events and sessions are split between three levels beginner, intermediate, and advanced to allow advice to pertain directly to your skiing level. In addition to the event related sessions, the conference hosts several off-the-water sessions related to team building, off-season training, and becoming an official. The event culminates in a fancy banquet with Team Midwest awards (Ski-Ammy’s), Team Midwest All-Star team announcements, and food! More information about the location and schedule for the Team Midwest Winter Conference can be found at the official Facebook event.

South Central Region

The South Central has adopted the concept of Winter Conference from the Midwest. The efforts of recent years have put the winter meet-up on a solid track for the future. Similar to the Midwest, the teams travel to a host school for the gathering, this year they head to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas for the meeting on February 11, 2017. The future of this meet-up looks bright as the South Central already plays host to several professional water skiers, and the warm-ish weather in the doldrums of winter could lead to a meet-up with off the water seminars and on the water training!

Western Region

The Western region will gather in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 11, 2017 to conduct its business meeting. Agenda items including voting on the Western board, setting the 2017 schedule, and relaying information discussed or voted on at the National meeting.
